AKIPRESS.COM - Russian cosmonaut, two-time Hero of the Soviet Union, Hero of the Mongolian People's Republic, Major General V.A.Dzhanibekov is currently on a visit in Mongolia, Montsame reports.
Invited as a part of the representatives of the ‘Friends of Mongolia' Society of Russia, the former cosmonaut is participating in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Khalkhin Gol Battle. The representatives included president of the ‘Friends of Mongolia' Society of Russia V.A.Babushkin and cosmonaut of the USSR, Hero of the Mongolian People's Republic S.V.Petrovich.
The representatives were received by Minister of Defense N.Enkhbold on September 2. Expressing his gratitude for the dear heroes that arrived in Mongolia for the anniversary of the victory that was brought by joint forces, he introduced the events that are planned for the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Khalkhin Gol Battle.
After the meeting, Minister N.Enkhbold awarded the ‘Friends of Mongolia' Society of Russia and Hero of the Mongolian People's Republic J.Gurragchaa with the medal of the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Khalkhin Gol Battle. State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, Brigadier-General Kh.Batbileg and Head of the Foreign Cooperation Department of the Ministry, Colonel E.Gansukh were present at the meeting.
