AKIPRESS.COM - A large number of passengers and a shortage of planes in Kazakhstan led to high prices for airline tickets, Deputy Prime Minister Jenis Kasymbek said on September 3 during the session of the government, Vlast.kz reports. To resolve these issues, the government in cooperation with the JSC Samruk-Kazyna plans to capitalize the Air Astana and Qazaq Air companies to help them expand the aircraft fleet, Kasymbek noted.
In terms of prevention of the deficit of railroad tickets and illegal mediatorial methods, according to him, the government is carrying out digitalization of ticket sales. In addition, the national railroad company will buy more than 100 passenger wagons, the Deputy PM said.
On September 2, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his outrage over high prices for air tickets in Kazakhstan during his address to the nation.
