AKIPRESS.COM - Quarantine declared on August 17 in the village of Olginka of Akmola region due to the anthrax outbreak has been lifted, the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan reported.
"After disinfection of the village, no more precursors of disease were found, which confirmed the results of the examination. The new cases of animal infection and their die off have not been registered. To date, the epizootic situation is stable and under the control of veterinary service of the region," the statement says.
According to the regional health department, new cases of anthrax infection among the population were not detected.
Olginka village was quarantined since August 17 after hospitalization of 5 residents with the suspected anthrax. They were later diagnosed anthrax. The reason for infection was slaughtering of a cow without veterinary certification.
