Jeenbekov condoles over passing of Koran translator into Russian Valeria-Iman Porokhova

Bishkek, Sept. 4, 2019. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov expressed his condolences to chairman of the Council of Muftis of Russia, chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the European part of Russia, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, over passing of Valeria-Iman Porokhova, the only translator of the Koran into Russian in poetic form, the press service of the Kyrgyz President reported.
"With a feeling of deep sorrow and compassion, I received the news of the death of the only translator of the Koran into Russian in the poetic form of Valeria-Iman Porokhova.
The Islamic world has suffered a heavy and irreparable loss.
Valeria-Iman Mikhailovna made a huge contribution to the development of translation and oriental studies. She repeatedly visited Kyrgyzstan and took an active part in various scientific and religious events, always raised issues of spiritual morality and the problems of raising the general level of human culture.
Her bright image of the great translator, Muslim public and scientific figure will forever remain in our memory.
On behalf of the people of Kyrgyzstan and on my own behalf, I express my sincere condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased," says in the message of condolence.
