AKIPRESS.COM - Several dozens of people gathered in the city of Almaty protesting against construction of Chinese plants in Kazakhstan, lada.kz reported. They adopted a resolution, where they put forward their claims.
The protesters were claiming that the investment projects that are carried out by China in Kazakhstan should be implemented transparently and under the public control. They also demanded the national interest to be protected and the right to subsoil management to be nationalized.
To talk to the protesters, authorities came to the meeting and called them to make a dialogue, however, people demanded mayor Bakytzhan Sagintayev to come for negotiations.
Another group of demonstrators today rallied in Aktau with the same requirements.
On September 3, about 500 people protested in the city of Janaozen against construction of 55 Chinese plants in the country.
