New mayor of Zhanaozen named

AKIPRESS.COM - Maksat Ibagarov has been appointed as mayor of the city of Zhanaozen of Mangistau region, the press service of the regional governor reported.
Ibagarov replaced Adilbek Dauylbayev in this position. The new mayor was born in 1970 in Turkmenistan.
Prior to this appointment, he worked as Deputy Director General of JSC Ozenmunaygas on transport and social affairs.
On September 2, about 100 men protested near the building of the city administration demanding to employ locals. According to them, there is a shortage of jobs for locals. In addition, the protesters were speaking against opening of Chinese plants. On the next day, another rally was held in Zhanaozen. They told to regional governor Serikbay Trumov and Adilbek Dauylbayev.
