AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev welcomed participants of the First Forum of Asian Countries' Writers in the city of Nur-Sultan on September 4, the press service of the Akorda reported.
The head of state noted that the works of 30 Kazakhstani writers and 31 poets will be translated into 6 languages of the UN. These works will be available for 2.5 billion readers in more than 90 countries of the world, according to him.
The President said the Great Silk Road has became very powerful uniting many civilizations.
"I think that the Forum should become the most important platform for creative dialogue and be held on a regular basis in various Asian countries. The most difficult issues should be discussed in such platforms. It is very important to strebgthen the role of Asia as a center of development of the world spirit. Therefore, one of the tasks is to stimulate a high dynamics of creative processes in the literature," Tokayev said.
The President also called for creation of an electronic library of works of Asian writers.
The Forum brought together 300 writers from 38 countries.
