AKIPRESS.COM - Ambassador of China to Kazakhstan Zhang Xiao while commenting on current rallies in the cities of Kazakhstan said there are "certain forces behind these protests", Vlast.kz reports.
The diplomat actually confirmed the information about 55 Chinese factories that are the main concern of those protesting.
"I want to pay attention to the general background of these rallies. They occurred right on the eve of the most important visit, which is currently being prepared swing by both countries. Therefore, I can easily say that such actions are aimed precisely against this important event in bilateral relations. It's supposed that some forces arte behind these protesting speakers, who pushed, trying to spark the negative mood of the nation against China and against the development of our bilateral relations,"Ambassador Xiao said during the handover ceremony of study textbooks to Kazakhstan on Chinese language.
Meanwhile, the diplomat noted that the "attempts failed, as they come solely from selfish geopolitical interests".
According to the Ambassador, China officially does not even enter the top three countries investing in the Kazakh economy.
"Where are their reasons for confirming that China allegedly wants to conquer the territory, resettle here a population and so on? This is a nonsense. In fact, there is a giant oil refinery in the Kazakh market, who came here much earlier, who gained much more than others, who is still using all privileges that nobody has. It is strange to shut eyes to all of these. Doesn't it make you wonder?" he added.
Rallies in several cities of Kazakhstan occurred from September 2. The protesters are demanding to stop construction of Chinese factories in the country claiming on economic influence of China.
