Bishkek, Sept.5, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan's Government has considered issue of return of Kyrgyz children in the Republic of Iraq.
Under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Jenish Razakov, work is being done in cooperation with the relevant state bodies to return in Kyrgyzstan minor children in Iraqi penitentiary institutions, the Government’s press service reported.
An inter-ministerial working group on the repatriation and reintegration of minors in Iraq has been formed. In the near future, it is planned that this group will travel to Baghdad to process the relevant documents and return the children to Kyrgyzstan.
The working group has developed an action plan for the further rehabilitation and reintegration of children with the involvement of relevant qualified professionals, including psychologists and theologians.
Work is also under way to clarify information on the whereabouts and number of Kyrgyz citizens in the Syrian Arab Republic.
Ongoing activities and negotiations with Iraqi authorities are under the personal control of Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic is in charge of all negotiations with the Iraqi authorities on the repatriation of children. In turn, the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, the Ministry of Health and other structures are carrying out preparatory activities for further rehabilitation and adaptation of children," Deputy PM Razakov stressed.
