AKIPRESS.COM - 49 young komuz players performed on the shore of Issyk-Kul lake of Karakol town in the Issyk-Kul region as a part of the event on occasion of Komuz Day, Turmush reports.
According to organizers, the event is aimed at promotion of national musical instrument - komuz.
The President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov signed a decree on establishment of the Komuz Day on September 9.
A new holiday was established in order to to strengthen the role of traditional music to expand the intercultural dialogue of ethnic communities of Kyrgyzstan.
"The traditional music as an integral part of the spiritual culture of the Kyrgyz people can not be imagined without komuz. Komuz has a special place in the traditional culture of Kyrgyz people. The komuz melodies is fraught with philosophic ideas, lifestyle and culture, passed from generation to generation to this day," the decree said.
