Uzbekistan, Turkey to jointly develop multimodal transport from China through Kyrgyzstan

Tashkent, Sept.9, 2019. /Kabar/. Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade and Turkish State Railways have agreed on close cooperation in cargo transportation, the ministry’s pres service reported.
At the meeting, heads of the Turkish State Railways and Urta Osie Trans, as well as Silk Road International discussed issues, related to the establishment of multimodal cargo transportation along the Turkey - Georgia - Azerbaijan - Turkmenistan - Uzbekistan - Kyrgyzstan - China route.
The sides noted the importance to take comprehensive measures to develop the international transport system, which would have a significant impact on the growth of the economies of the above-mentioned countries, the report says.
Besides, the sides considered proposals on the organization of the Uzbek-Turkish business forum, on the basis of which entrepreneurs of the two countries could effectively exchange information, establish new contacts and links and work on the implementation of new projects.
"An agreement was reached on close cooperation in this direction," the press service of the Uzbek Ministry of Investment reported.
