11 paedos sentenced to chemical castration in Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM - Some 11 people have been sentenced to chemical castration in Kazakhstan, Sputnik Kazakhstan reported with reference to the penal system committee.
To date, the procedure is underway on two convicts (in Pavlodar and Akmola regions).
The chemical castration is conducted on the basis of the courts decisions as a result of forensic psychiatric examination. The punishment is applied to people older than 18 years for committing sexual crimes against under-age children.
The chemical castration was officially permitted in Kazakhstan since January 1, 2018.
According to the budget applications, healthcare departments of regions applied for financial funds for chemical castration of 88 patients for 2019, 71 patients in 2020.
