AKIPRESS.COM - A number of commercial deals have been signed between Kazakhstan and China following the meeting of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev with business circles of China during his state visit, media report. In his speech at the 6th session of the business council between the countries, Tokayev said Kazakhstan is interested in cooperation on innovative technologies, investments, agriculture, tourism and development of a transport corridor between Asia and Europe.
He said that his country is making efforts in creation of favorable investment climate.
According to the participants of the talks, China during the independent years invested about $20 billion in the economy of Kazakhstan.
Tokayev noted that China became one of the largest foreign and economic partners of Kazakhstan, which is shown by growth of trade turnover between the countries.
Bilateral trade in 2018 increased by 11.4% making $12 billion.
Upon conclusion, the Kazakh President expressed confidence that Kazakhstan and China have a strong foundation for further expansion of trade and economic and investment ties.
