Bishkek, Sept.12, 2019. /Kabar/. Minister of Internal Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli has arrived in Kyrgyzstan with an official delegation.
The Iranian minister was personally met by Kyrgyzstan’s Interior Minister Kashkar Dzunushaliyev at Manas International Airport, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
A bilateral meeting of the interior ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Iran took place today. Within the framework of this meeting the sides discussed issues of cooperation and prospects of its further development. They noted the importance of joint decisions on topical issues and efforts in the fight against crime.
Kyrgyzstan’s Dzhunushaliyev noted at the moment the most important task of building effective international cooperation in the field of law enforcement activity is the work on counteraction to terrorism and extremism, development of cooperation in the field of combating organized crime and terrorism, extremism, human trafficking, illegal drug trafficking.
He also stressed the need to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of security and law enforcement between the countries.
At the end of the meeting, Dzhunushaliyev and Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli signed an agreement on cooperation in the security and law-enforcement fields between the two countries on the development of cooperation in the field of combating organized crime and terrorism, extremism, trafficking in human beings, illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, in particular, on mutual cooperation within the framework of the UN Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs.
The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Both sides expressed their desire for further cooperation.
