The presentation was organized by the Kyrgyz Embassy in South Korea in cooperation with the Information and Advisory Center (IAC) of the Migration Service of the Kyrgyz Republic.
At the conference the Kyrgyz Republic was represented by Ambassador Dinara Kemelova and Director of the IAC of the Kyrgyz State Migration Service Baktiyar Tolonov.
Then, representatives of the State Migration Service took part in the EPS Forum, during which they discussed the possibility of increasing the number of employment contracts for Kyrgyz citizens.
Agreement to work together to promote the potential of the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of labor migration was reached at the separate meeting of Kyrgyz Ambassador Dinara Kemelova with Director of the IAC Baktiyar Tolonov and activists working with labor migrants.
Opportunities for employment of Kyrgyz citizens in new labor markets in Korea were also discussed.
The EPS system is a Korean system for issuing work permits. Kyrgyzstan has been a member of the EPS system since 2007, according to which labor migrants from Kyrgyzstan leave for Korea under labor contracts, in accordance with the Memorandum between the State Migration Service of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Labor of the Republic of Korea. Departure under the official quota provides an opportunity for guaranteed employment, as well as protection of migrant workers' rights.
