Bishkek, Sept.13, 2019 /Kabar/. On Sept.12, 2019, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan, Head of the Representative Office of the Kyrgyz Republic to the European Union (EU) Muktar Dzhumaliyev presented his credentials to President of the Council of the European Union Donald Tusk in Brussels.
The press service of Kyrgyzstan’s Representative Office to EU reported that, during the meeting there was an exchange of views on the issues of bilateral Kyrgyz-European cooperation, the signing and subsequent ratification by the sides of the new Agreement on Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation of the Kyrgyz Republic-EU, which will open a new era of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation.
Muktar Dzhumaliyev expressed his gratitude to the European side for the support of democratic reforms and economic taking place in Kyrgyzstan. The ambassador noted the importance of access to the EU market of goods and services of Kyrgyzstan; in this regard he noted the initiative of the Kyrgyz side in holding the First EU-CA Economic Forum in Bishkek next year.
President of the European Council Donald Tusk noted building a democratic state is a very complicated and lengthy process, but at the same time the example of Kyrgyzstan on this path deserves special recognition.
He noted the European side is interested in intensifying cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic on economic aspects, which will be facilitated by the signing of a new enlarged agreement between the EU and Kyrgyzstan.
