President Berdimuhamedov attended VI Congress of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan

AKIPRESS.COM - The regular, VI congress of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Makhtumkuli was held in the Mekan Palace in the capital on Sept 11 with participation of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Foreign Ministry reports.
On the agenda of the congress, which brought together representatives of youth organizations of all levels from cities and regions of the country, a progress report, a discussion of the priority tasks facing the youth organization, and a number of organizational issues were submitted.
The youth organization of Turkmenistan named after Makhtumkuli, created on November 16, 1991, currently unites 4 thousand 973 primary organizations, 909 thousand 765 members.
The Chairman of the Central Council of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Makhtumkuli S. Babayev made a report, which gave an analysis of the work carried out since the last congress, including the implementation of the "State Program for 2015-2020 State Youth Policy in Turkmenistan". The report presented data on the activities of this organization in various directions for 2016-2019.
During the meeting of the VI Congress, its participants elected a new membership of the Central Council of the Youth Organization named after Makhtumkuli and its leaders. Y. Ovezberdiev was elected as the Chairman of the Central Council of the Organization; Y. Keriev was elected as his deputy.
The President congratulated the audience on the beginning of the VI Congress of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Makhtumkuli, and also addressed the wishes of success in the work of the newly elected new composition of the Central Council of this organization.
The participants and guests of the forum listened to the speech of the President of Turkmenistan with great enthusiasm. On behalf of the congress delegates, the chairman of the Central Council of the Youth Organization expressed his deep gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the time he devoted to meeting with the youth of the country, stressing that they all perceived President's speech as a guide to action.
The delegates of the VI Congress unanimously adopted a Resolution arising from the tasks set by the head of state to the Youth Organization at a new stage.
