Senate of Kazakhstan discusses rights and improvement of lives of people with disabilities

AKIPRESS.COM - The first session of the Senate of Kazakhstan on development of proposals on protection of rights and improvement of the quality of life of people with disabilities was held on September 13, the press service of the Senate said. The working group consists of members of the Senate, representatives of the ministries, local executive bodies and non-profit organizations and headed by Senator from West Kazakhstan region Nariman Turegaliyev.
According to the participants, there is a tendency of reducing salaries of workers and reducing in position after receiving disability status in the country today. Therefore, the norms of law concerning the employees should be toughened, they noted.
The session also touched the issues of social workers that help people with disabilities. The working group members said they get low salaries. Representatives of non-profit organizations offered to determine the status of such workers, give them an opportunity to improve their skills and reconsider their salaries.
