Uzbek customs officers foil smuggling attempt of ancient coins, statues

AKIPRESS.COM - The Uzbek customs service foiled the attempt to smuggle ancient artifacts, CA-News reports. The Afghan citizen tried to smuggle 244 ancient coins and 2 statues in his luggage.
The coins and statues were dated III-II centuries B.C. They were valued at 52 million soums.
The seized items were handed over to the Termez Archaeological Museum.
The case is under investigation.
