Afghanistan – Uzbekistan – Kazakhstan – China railway route launched

AKIPRESS.COM - The launch of the first container train from Afghanistan to China through the territories of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan was marked on September 11 at the Arg Palace in Kabul. The ceremony was attended by President of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani, members of the government, parliamentm representatives of public and political and business circles of Afghanistan, as well as diplomatic corps.
According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan, Minister of Transport of Afghanistan Yama Yari shared the plans on development of transport corridors in the country and export of Afghan products to China. The Minister stressed that the launch of the railway transport will help further increase export of the Afghan goods and reduce costs for transportation of freights and terms of supply.
The Afghan President in his speech praised Uzbekistan's merits in development of cargo transit, transport and communication routes in the region and separately thanked the leadership of the country for facilitating the transit of Afghanistan goods to China.
