AKIPRESS.COM - Interior Minister of Kazakhstan Yerlan Turgumbayev said the responsibility of drivers for violations during crossing railways will be toughened, Tengrinews.kz reports. According to him, 96% of accidents with participation of cars on railways happen due to the fault of car drivers.
"Low driver discipline. We have special signs that warn of railway passage in all railways crossings," he told a briefing.
The issue of tightening responsibility for violations on railway crossings should be considered, because accidents on railway crossings often end up with fatality, he noted.
On September 15, one killed and three were severely injured after a high-speed train hit a bus on railway crossing in Almaty region.
