Bishkek, Sept. 18, 2019. / Kabar /. The Integrated Forest Ecosystem Management Project funded by the World Bank and the Global Environment Facility donated computer and office equipment to the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry of Kyrgyzstan.
According to the press service of the State Agency, 40 units of computer equipment were purchased for the implementation of the Forest Management Information System, intended for accounting, control, planning and management of forests, as well as all information related to it. This program will be launched in test mode this fall.
This activity is carried out in accordance with current national initiatives related to the transition to digital society in Kyrgyzstan and with the aim of promoting and introducing modern digital technologies in the forest industry.
Forestry is an industry in which such information and computer technologies are most in demand. This is due to the huge amount of cartographic information used and the amount of data. The introduction of information technology will help automate all key forest management processes, will ensure continuous monitoring and obtaining operational and objective information about the state of forests.
