Nur-Sultan hosts 18th session of Secretariat of Congress of World and Traditional Religions

AKIPRESS.COM - The 18th session of the Secretariat of the Congress of the World and Traditional Religions kicked off in the city of Nur-Sultan today under the chairmanship of Dariga Nazarbayeva, Zakon.kz reports.
The religious leaders discussed agreements achieved at the previous sessions and are preparing agenda of the future congress in 2021, the report says.
According to Nazarbayeva, this year the congress marks its 16th anniversary.
"Kazakhstan then became a platform for holding peaceful, fruitful, friendly interreligious dialogue. The idea of creation of such dialogue platform belongs to the First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev," Nazarbayeva reminded in her speech.
The major problem voiced by Speaker of the Senate of Kazakh Parliament was terrorism, extremism and other forms of violation hiden behind religion.
Participants of the session, representatives of Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, Shintoism, Zoroastrianism.
