At the Kyrgyz Embassy in Uzbekistan, a meeting was held between Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Uzbekistan Ibrahim Dzhunusov and newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Kan Jae Kwon, where they discussed issues of Kyrgyz-South Korean cooperation. The meeting was initiated by the South Korean side.
According to the Kyrgyz Embassy in the Republic of Uzbekistan, Dzhunusov congratulated Kang Jae Kwon on his appointment and noted the historically established friendly relations between Kyrgyzstan and Korea. He expressed gratitude to the Korean side for supporting Kyrgyzstan in democratic transformations and building a democratic society. He emphasized the interest of the Kyrgyz side in enhancing trade and economic cooperation, in terms of export of environmentally friendly products from Kyrgyzstan.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the annual increase in the number of tourists from the Republic of Korea to Kyrgyzstan.
The parties also discussed upcoming political contacts and visits at a high level. It was noted that since the beginning of its work in 2007, the Central Asia - Republic of Korea Forum, as a regular multilateral consultative dialogue, has been successfully developing and has contributed to strengthening mutual trust and enhancing exchanges between Korea and Central Asian countries.
At the end of the meeting, Dzhunusov wished Kang Jae Kwon great success as Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan.
