Oil workers protest in Mangistau region due to low salaries

AKIPRESS.COM - More than 160 drivers of the Mobil Service Group LLC complained about low salaries, Lada.kz reports. Contractors of the large Karazhanbas oil field demanded to increase their salaries by 100%.
The protesters appealed to their employer with the request to consider the issue of increasing salaries. Their requirements were satisfied, the press service of the Mangistau regional administration reported.
Karazhanbas is an oil field in Mangistau region located on the Buzachi peninsula.
"Prior to the protest, we held talks with the leadership of the company about salaries, but we were promised only. Then we had to stop the work. We are 162 people and we have 180 units of machinery. We will protest until we get salaries increased. If they fire, let them do it," the workers of the Mobile Service Group said.
Employees of the Aktaukrantekhservis rallied on September 19.
On this day, they appealed to the leadership of their company. As a result of negotiations, the sides came to compromise on increasing salaries.
To date, all employees are working as normally. The plant resumed its work, the statement noted.
