Bishkek, Sept.20, 2019. /Kabar/. As part of his one-day working trip to Orenburg Oblast (Russia), Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov met with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
The current state, topical issues and prospects of bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Russia were discussed.
Russian President Vladimir Putin noted the bilateral cooperation of the countries in all directions continues. Attention is drawn to the economic cooperation, which is developing successfully - the growth of trade turnover at the end of 2018 amounted to 17%, which is also growing in 2019.
He added that military and military-technical cooperation between Russia and Kyrgyzstan is continuing positively.
The Russian President noted the Center 2019 joint strategic command-staff exercise is a very important stage in the preparation of the armed forces of the countries in case of reflection of any unforeseen situations, including in the fight against terrorism.
Kyrgyzstan’s Sooronbay Jeenbekov expressed his gratitude for the invitation and congratulated Vladimir Putin on the successful completion of the Center 2019 military exercises.
He noted the past exercises have been a source of pride for the armed forces of countries. The Kyrgyz leader stressed with satisfaction that the military contingents of the two countries actively cooperate in bilateral and multilateral formats.
President Jeenbekov once again stressed that Kyrgyzstan is a reliable ally and partner of Russia, noting the priority implementation of previously reached agreements with the Russian Federation in all areas of cooperation.
