Kyrgyz cultural traditions presented at festival in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Sept.23, 2019. /Kabar/. The Tashkent Botanical Garden hosted the XVII festival of cultural traditions and national dishes among diplomatic missions, accredited in Uzbekistan.
Director of the SCO Public Diplomacy Institute in Uzbekistan, Senator of the Uzbek Parliament Rakhmatullah Nazarov said employees of diplomatic institutions had an opportunity to present the national cuisine with its peculiarities.
"This festival fills the cultural life of the country and gives an opportunity to the visitors of the capital to get acquainted with the culture of the countries-participants of the festival and promotes the development of culture and tourism," he said.
The festival was attended by members of the diplomatic corps and representatives of international organizations, including Kyrgyzstan.
Along with the Embassies' stands, extensive information on the tourist potential of Uzbekistan was also presented. Representatives of 10 oblasts of Uzbekistan acquainted the guests with the history, ancient cities of the republic, monuments of culture and architecture in detail.
The festival is of a charitable nature, and the proceeds from the sale of national dishes will be donated to orphanages in Tashkent.
This event has been held since 2000 by the Diplomatic Corps Service Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
