Government covers 42% of administrative expenses of schools - Ministry of Education of Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - The government of Kyrgyzstan covers 42% of administrative expenses in schools, deputy Minister of Education Narira Jusupbekova said today at the session of the parliamentary committee on social affairs, education, science, culture and healthcare.
The Parliament member Omurbek Bakirov (SDPK party) expressed outrage over raising money from schoolchildren for administrative expenses.
"If you lack money for administrative expenses, you should tell us instead of raising funds from schoolchildren," he said.
Jusupbekova said that additional funds are not needed, if the government would cover 100% of expenses in schools.
According to her, a certain sum of money should be established for technical equipment. Teacher and directors should not participate in collection of funds, she noted.
Bakirov noted that there are cases, when teachers oppress children if parents do not give funds.
The Deputy Minister said this issue needs to be considered for its resolution.
