Parliament considers bill on organization of nutrition in educational organizations of Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - The parliamentary committee on social affairs, education, science, culture and healthcare considered the bill on organization of nutrition in educational organizations of Kyrgyzstan.
The Parliament member Dastan Bekeshev (SDPK party) offered to ban a palm oil in the draft law.
According to him, the palm oil is harmful for children.
In this regard, the parliamentarian said the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education should give recommendations concerning the school menu.
Deputy Minister of Education Nadira Jusupbekova said that the variants of menu were worked out in cooperation with the Mnistry of Health. The palm oil is prohibited but it is involved in a school nutrition, she added.
Other parliamentarians opposed the proposal of Bekeshev saying any bans on food for children should be considered by relevant bodies.
