Bishkek city council urges to ban school fees

AKIPRESS.COM - The Bishkek city council member Kazybek Ergeshov complained on fees in schools at the session of the permanent commission on social affairs on September 23. According to him, parents collect 500-600 som every month.
"In addition, they pay for various things. These fees should be prohibited," he noted.
Chairperson of the education department od mayor's office Saule Meyermanova claimed that the fees are collected despite the ban.
"A cleaner gets 5,800 som salary. Unfortunately, major funds are taken from the parents' money. We will pay attention to these facts," she added.
