Kyrgyz delegation takes part in work of UN Sub-Commission on Drugs in Tashkent

Tashkent, Sept. 24, 2019 / Kabar /. The delegation of Kyrgyzstan, headed by Secretary of the State Coordinating Committee for the Control of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Precursors of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Timur Isakov, is taking part in the 54th session of the UN Sub-Commission on Illicit Drug Traffic in the Near and Middle East in Tashkent.
The event discusses the current state of regional and subregional cooperation in the field of combating drug trafficking and other related issues. Particular attention is paid to the development of the exchange of operational information, the creation of regional platforms for international cooperation in this area.
An exchange of views will take place on the creation and implementation of new methods for combating the illicit trafficking of synthetic opioids and synthetic cannabinoids. Attention will also be paid to the elimination of foci of opiate production and to the solution of problems arising in this direction.
Participants intend to expand outreach activities to prevent the use of narcotic drugs among the population, especially adolescents and youth.
During the five days of the session, participants will consider these issues in detail.
