AKIPRESS.COM - The political consultations between the external policy agencies of Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Morocco were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on Sept 23. The delegation of Morocco headed by the Secretary of State of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Morocco Ms. Mounia Boucetta, arrived to Ashgabat to participate at the session, Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.
During the meeting, the parties noted the necessity of activating the cooperation on the whole spectrum of Turkmen-Moroccan relations, particularly the political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian collaboration. It was underlined that the relations between the two states consistently strengthen under the wise leadership of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the King of Morocco Mohammed VI.
The parties spoke about the importance of organizing the bilateral visits on high level which gives vital impulse to the strengthening of bilateral ties. It was noted that the countries actively cooperate in the framework of international organizations, primarily the UN. The diplomats stressed the closeness of standpoints on current issues of the international agenda and spoke about the positive neutrality of Turkmenistan. In this context, the Moroccan side noted the important role of Turkmenistan in maintaining peace, security and stability in the region. Speaking on the development of inter-parliamentary relations and strengthening of the legal basis, the parties underlined the necessity of designing "a road map" of cooperation for the coming years.
The diplomats considered the opportunities of expanding the trade-economic cooperation in the area of energy, textile and chemical industry, agriculture and others. The need to exchange business delegations, hosting of joint forums and events was highlighted.
Also, the parties discussed the opportunities of widening cultural-humanitarian cooperation. The proposals of cooperation in the field of education, tourism, horse breeding and carpet making were considered.
Ms. Mounia Boucetta expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for the high organizational level of her visit and congratulated with the upcoming Independence Day of Turkmenistan.
Upon the outcomes of the consultations, a number of bilateral documents were signed.
