Bishkek, Sept.25, 2019. /Kabar/. On the margins of the 74 session of the UN General Assembly, Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Health Kosmosbek Cholponbayev met with his Russian counterpart Veronika Skvortsova.
The press service of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that during the meeting, the ministers of the two countries discussed issues of cooperation in the field of health care, in particular, they agreed to update the Agreement between the Ministries of Health of Kyrgyzstan and Russia on cooperation in the field of health care and medicine, as well as strengthening the work between the scientific centers of the two countries to provide high-tech medical services.
In addition, Minister Cholponbayev addressed the counterpart to consider the issue of access to medical services for migrant workers and their families, as well as issues of treatment of patients with tuberculosis and HIV infection.
Following the meeting, the two ministers agreed to intensify cooperation between the two ministries.
Note that, the High-Level Meeting on Universal health coverage (UNC): Moving together to build a healthier world is being held at the UN Headquarters in New York (USA), which will include discussions on the implementation plans of the Global Compact for Progress towards UNC 2030.
The above-mentioned Global Compact for Progress towards UNC 2030 was adopted during the 73rd session of the UN in 2018.
