Bishkek, Sept. 25, 2019. / Kabar /. The first meeting of the Kyrgyz-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation was held in Bishkek. The meeting was chaired by Minister of Economy of Kyrgyzstan Sanjar Mukanbetov from the Kyrgyz side and by State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Foreign Affairs of Hungary Tamas Mentser from the Hungarian side, the press service of the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
In his speech, Mukanbetov noted that the cooperation between the two countries has all the prerequisites for the intensification of Kyrgyz-Hungarian relations, in this regard, the activities of the Intergovernmental Commission will be a good tool to give impetus to economic relations between the two states, as well as increase the level of trade exchange between the Kyrgyz Republic and Hungary.
The minister also said that the governments of the two countries unite such economic goals as ensuring economic growth, quality of living standards and an income not lower than the average in the world, creating a competitive economy, diversifying the economy, developing production, as well as the historical and cultural proximity of the two peoples.
Also during the meeting, the sides considered a number of issues of bilateral cooperation, such as opening joint ventures in the Kyrgyz Republic, increasing scholarship quotas for training Kyrgyz students in Hungarian universities, as well as agreements were reached on the exchange of experience in the fields of standardization and metrology, veterinary and phytosanitary safety, industry and the environment, as well as in the financial and banking sectors.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic, the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Investments Promotion and Protection Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic and Eximbank of Hungary.
Following the meeting, a protocol is signed.
