Kyrgyz Government is not working very well on migrant issues, MP says

AKIPRESS.COM - The Government is not working very well on migrant issues, MP Sagindik Keldibayev said during the parliament session on Thursday.
He said he's been raising the problem of imposing limits on the size of money transfers by migrant works from Russia to Kyrgyzstan since April 25 and that the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan pledged to discuss it on April 30 with the Russian PM.
"5 months have passed and no results have been achieved yet," he said.
According to the MP, Kyrgyz migrants are facing big challenges because of this limit.
"We shouldn't have had any restrictions being a member of the Eurasian Economic Union. Why no other EAEU member has no such restrictions? Why Kyrgyzstan?" he asked.
In April 2019, Russian Central Bank limited the size of money transfers to Kyrgyzstan to up to 100,000 rubles per individual per month in a move reported to be aimed to fight against shadow operations such as unregistered business activities. The limit for Kazakhstan is 150,000 rubles per month.
