AKIPRESS.COM - Domestic sugar producers cannot sell out their goods and the prices fell, said MP Baktybek Rayimkulov during the parliament session.
He suggested to temporarily ban import of sugar from Russia until year end as the prices for sugar dropped significantly from 43 soms to 30 soms per kilo.
"There are businessmen in Kyrgyzstan who import sugar from Russia and Ukraine pursuing their own interests and thus decrease prices for sugar. One plant cannot pay off its borrowing because it cannot sell sugar. Thanks to Prime Minister who helped solve this issue and the banks are providing money for affected sugar producers," he said.
