AKIPRESS.COM - A long line of trucks moving to Uzbekistan are trapped on Kazakh-Uzbek border reportedly due to the seizure of a large batch of drugs, Ozodlik reported. Uzbekistanis are complaining that they can not enter the territory of Uzbekistan for more than 2 days.
The truck drivers took photo and video materials from the site saying they are trapped in the line.
"At the Chernyayevka checkpoint, the queue of trucks is not moving - Uzbek customs officials do not let the trucks move. No single official came up to explain the situation. The drivers gathered and called to the customs service. They told us that they will study the situation and inform us. No one called yet. People standing at the checkpoint do not talk to us, they refrain from comments. They do not let pass both trucks and cars," one of the drivers told Ozodlik.
Another driver said they are trapped due to seizure of drugs in three cars of young men from Tajikistan, who were moving to Russia last Friday on September 20.
Representative of the customs service of Kazakhstan reported that the Kazakh side has nothing to do with the blockage on the border with Uzbekistan. The source confirmed that a large batch of drug was seized there.
According to spokesperson of the state revenue department of Turkestan region Bayan Tulganbayev, backup of cars are due to the robust regime of work from the Uzbek side.
