Volume of investments in Kyrgyzstan increases by 59% in 2019: PM

Bishkek, Sept.27, 2019. /Kabar/. Since the beginning of 2019, investments have increased by USD 394 million, or by 59% compared to 2018, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev said during the session of the Government.
He noted in the first 8 months of 2019, GDP growth amounted to 6.2%.
"All sectors have growth, industry by 10%, agriculture by 1.6%. In 2018, the growth of agriculture amounted to 2.5%. The fact is that this year's harvest has not yet been completed," he said.
The prime minister said the growth of exports in 2019 amounted to KGS 1 billion, or 9.1%, while imports decreased by 11.8%.
Besides, Abylgaziev said that in 2018 the volume of the country's external debt amounted to 48% of GDP.
"At the end of 2019, we will reduce the external debt to 46.5%. We want to cut by another 3% on the basis of the new budget," the prime minister added.
