Kyrgyz FM meets with foreign ministers of Qatar, Indonesia and Cambodia

Bishkek, Sept. 27, 2019. / Kabar /. As part of the participation of the Kyrgyz delegation in the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly, a meeting was held between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Chingiz Aidarbekov and his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdurahman Al Thani, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of Kyrgyz-Qatari bilateral cooperation and prospects for its development.
The heads of delegations expressed the interest in developing relations in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, in particular, organizing high and highest level visits, attracting Qatari investments in the country's economy.
Chingiz Aidarbekov also met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Retno Marsudi.
The sides expressed interest in enhancing the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian dialogue, noting the importance of the meeting, which will give further impetus to deepening bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and Indonesia.
The ministers of the two countries noted that trade and economic relations between Kyrgyzstan and Indonesia remain at a low level. The necessity of considering ways of enhancing economic cooperation, including through the use of the potential of the Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Indonesian Commission, is expressed.
The sides noted that the time has come to make joint efforts and intensify work in this direction. Particular attention is paid to the development and strengthening of multilateral trade and economic cooperation.
Also within the framework of the meeting, a discussion was held on issues of cooperation between the two countries within the UN.
Aidarbekov also met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cambodia Prak Sokhon.
The results of the meeting in Dushanbe in June 2019 as part of the CICA Summit and the recent political consultations between the foreign ministries in Bishkek were discussed.
The sides noted the closeness of their positions on many international issues and noted the importance of further building up bilateral cooperation within the framework of regional and international organizations.
The Cambodian side noted a high interest in enhancing cooperation with the SCO and the EAEU.
