About 1.4 mln people rest in Kyrgyzstan in 2018, almost half- in Issyk-Kul Oblast

Bishkek, Sept.27, 2019 /Kabar/. The number of people, rested in Kyrgyzstan in 2018, made about 1.4 million, of which Issyk-Kul Oblast accounted for 43.5 percent, the report of the National Statistics Committee said.
In 2018, 486 leisure facilities and tourism organizations received and serviced tourists. These included 194 hotels and similar accommodation facilities, 64 travel agencies and tour operators, travel and excursion agencies, 9 nature parks and more than 30 other tourist facilities.
The number of children's health-improvement organizations and camps for children is 248, and the number of children who have had a rest in them has reached more than 33 thousand.
The average number of employees of enterprises and organizations in the tourism industry in 2018 was 8.5 thousand people.
In 2018, about $ 60 million of direct foreign investments (without taking into account the outflow) were attracted to the tourism sector, which is 3.5 times more than in 2017, while they came from non-CIS countries 3.4 times more, and from CIS countries 5.1 times more.
In 2018, the population received tourist and sightseeing services worth KGS 1794.6 million, while the volume of services, provided by hotels and other short-term accommodation amounted to KGS 3277.4 million.
The total volume of retail trade turnover in tourism in 2018 amounted to KGS 23.4 billion, an increase of 4.6 percent compared to the previous year.
The volume of transportation of tourists by all types of passenger transport in 2018 amounted to 6955.6 thousand people, and increased by 34.2 thousand people compared to the previous year.
In 2018, industrial enterprises produced goods, contributing to the development of tourism by KGS 68.4 million, or 8.5 percent more than in the previous year. Compared to the previous year, the production of national clothing increased by 3.1 times, the production of caps - by 23 percent, carpets - by 17.1 percent.
The volume of tourism services exports in 2018 amounted to $ 453.4 million, the import of tourism services for the same period - $ 275.5 million.
