Issyk-Kul residents rallying in support of ex-bodyguard of Almazbek Atambayev

AKIPRESS.COM - Residents of the village of Ak-Dobo, Jeti-Oguz district, Issyk-Kul region are holding a peaceful rally in support of former bodyguard of Almazbek Atambayev, Turmush reports. The participants request a fair investigation of the case of Kanat Sagymbayev. They appealed to the head of state.
"Sagymbayev was doing his job. His parents are respectful people in the village. His father died early. His brothers work in the education sphere. Kanat himself has 4 children. He was a breadwinner. We request a fair investigation of his case," the residents said.
The Pervomay district court detained the former employee of the 9th service of the National Security Committee Kanat Sagymbayev in reman prison #1.
He will be in custody until October 8.
Attorney Zamir Zhooshev said that he will appeal the court decision.
Sagymbayev was arrested on September 24. He is accused of 4 crimes: power abuse, group murder, obstruction of the investigator or other bodies and mass riot.
