495,500 senior citizens live in Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - 495,479 senior citizens live in Kyrgyzstan, which makes 7.7% of the total population, said Labor Ministry on Oct 1. According to Labor Ministry Ulukbek Kochkorov, 925 social workers provided home services to 6,900 senior citizens living alone and people with disabilities. 6 social inpatient facilities hosting 383 senior citizens.
Bishkek hosted a nordic walking on occasion of International Day of Older Persons and charity fair. The event was attended by the Vice PM Altynai Omurbekova, Labor Minister Ulukbek Kochkorov, seniors, representatives of non-governmental organizations and state bodies.
