AKIPRESS.COM - A mass fight involving citizens of Kyrgyzstan occurred at a market in Novosibirsk, the representative of the Kyrgyz diaspora in Novosibirsk Jarkynbai Toitukov said.
The conflict erupted on October 7 reportedly because native of Kyrgyzstan extorted money from several Kyrgyz citizens.
"The perpetrator and his people beat up Kyrgyzstanis, extorted money and not allowed to work normally in the marketplace," Toitukov said.
The Kyrgyzstanis fed up with it and set the car of the perpetrator on fire. The consul of Kyrgyzstan arrived on the scene, the situation has stabilized.
According to Russian news outlet Vesti, over 200 people were involved in the mass fight, 50 of them were attested.
A police officer had to make several warning shots into the air and call the backup, Vesti reports. Policemen and special purpose soldiers arrived on the scene, the streets were cordoned off.
5 people were hospitalized with rubber bullet wounds, according to the Novosibirsk Online.
