AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev proposed to introduce a single visa for the CIS countries like the Schengen agreement speaking at the summit of the CIS heads of state in Ashgabat, Interfax reports. "Unfortunately, there is a great difference between the national visa and migration legislations of the CIS member states. They create inconveniences for foreign tourists willing to visit several CIS countries. Maybe, I understand that it is difficult, but we should consider the issue of launching a single regime on the CIS territory under a working title "Commonwealth Visa" like the Schengen agreement. Such approach would increase a tourist flow. Of course, our experts will have to seriously think of this issue," Tokayev noted.
The head of state said that the tourism sphere in the CIS countries has a huge potential of cooperation.
"This sphere brings big dividends to many countries of the world. Every CIS member has its own unique recreational, natural and landscape and historical sites," he added.
