226 suicides committed in Kyrgyzstan within 7 months

AKIPRESS.COM - 226 suicides have been committed in Kyrgyzstan within 7 months of 2019, according to the materials of the National Statistics Committee on social and economic situation of the country in Jan-Aug 2019. The document says that the number of suicides reduced by 3% compared to the same period of 2018.
According to the WHO, child abuse is often the cause of suicide. Russia leads in the number of child and adolescent suicides in the European region and is followed by Latvia, Belgium, Finland, Moldova, Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
WHO recommends changing the legislation, involving health workers in identifying such cases, acquainting parents with "peaceful" methods of education and teaching children how to defend themselves.
