24,300 people visited Karakol in winter in 2017

AKIPRESS.COM - Parliament committee for budget and finances considered and approved the parliament's resolution on solution of the problems of the development of winter tourism in Issyk-Kul region.
One of the initiators, MP Maksat Sabirov said: "Summer tourist season lasts three months, winter tourist season lasts 4 months as the Karakol and Jyrgalan ski resorts operate in winter."
According to the statistics, about 24,300 people visited Karakol in winter in 2017 and about 2,400 tourists in 2018.
This year, the tax revenues from winter tourism grew by 25% compared to 2017. Currently, a draft master plan for the Issyk-Kul region has been prepared, he said.
