AKIPRESS.COM - The first duty free pavilion of the Belarusian goods opened at the Khorgos international hub, Sputnik Kazakhstan reported. Belarus is interested in strengthening cooperation with Khorgos, chief of the main department of foreign economic activities of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus Aleksey Bogdanov said at the Kazakh-Belarusian business-forum in Nur-Sultan.
Belarus is interested in boosting export and new forms of cooperation, incluidng in the investment sphere, according to him.
As one of the promising areas of cooperation, according to the Ministry, is cooperation with the Khorgos international hub, which is located in a special economic zone "Khorgos - East Gates", where a Belarusian shop was opened yesterday, Bogdanov said.
The Belarusian duty free was opened on October 23 by mayor of Almaty region Amandyk Batalov and the First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Alexander Turchin.
Representative of the Belarusian Ministry of Agriculture noted that increasing export potential of agricultural goods depends on imporving effectiveness and competitiveness of the produced goods, including through attraction of foreign capital.
"Therefore, we invite investors to discussion of the possible ways of cooperation," Bogdanov noted.
The business-forum was held ahead of the official visit of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to Kazakhstan.
Within the framework of the forum, 15 agreements for more than $75 million were signed between Kazakhstan and Belarus.
