AKIPRESS.COM - Russia plans to deliver 15 Sukhoi Superjet 100 planes to Kazakhstan and is holding negotiations with the SCAT Airline, Interfax reported.
According to a source, authorities of Kazakhstan are ready to approve the deal only after prolongation of the decision #130 of the Customs Union until 2023, which exempts from customs duties while importing A 320/Boeing-737 planes to the EAEU.
The first tariff privileges will end in 2023, and the second - in 2025. However, the Air Astana and SCAT Airlines of Kazakhstan will need about 60 new medium-range aircraft until 2023, as the lack of privileges will lead to additional costs of more than $500 million, which affects the ticket price.
The Russian regulators are againt the decision #130. In particular, the Ministry of Finance, according to the source, was offering to consider the issue in 2020 in accordance with the results of the talks held by the Ministry of Trade of Russia on purchase of aircraft produced in Russia by the EAEU members.
"The issue of extension of a tariff privilege concerning the import of planes is under the active phase of discussion within the framework of the EAEU. The proposal of the Kazakh side is supported by all EAEU member states, except for Russia, the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan said.
