AKIPRESS.COM - The parliament committee for international affairs, defense and security considered and approved the concept of the draft law on principles of policy on excise tax on tobacco products of the Eurasian Economic Union member states.
The initiator of this draft law is the Ministry of Economy. Deputy Minister Dastan Kadyrov presented this bill to the lawmakers.
During discussions, MP Kanybek Imanaliyev asked the Ministry to consider the question of limits on the size of money transfers from Russia to Kyrgyzstan by labor migrants. He said that the migrants should be free to send their earned money wherever they want.
"Tajiks are not members of the EAEU and they have no such restrictions, Kazakhs are free to send money too. Are we second class people or something?" MP said.
In April 2019, Russian Central Bank limited the size of money transfers to Kyrgyzstan to up to 100,000 rubles per individual per month in a move reported to be aimed to fight against shadow operations such as unregistered business activities. The limit for Kazakhstan is 150,000 rubles per month.
