Kazakhstan seeks to produce electric power from waste

AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakhstan is considering the issue of attraction of investments in waste management with production of electric power, Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resourses of Kazakhstan Magzum Mirzagaliyev said, Zakon.kz reports.
A poor investment attractiveness is the main barrier, he noted.
To resolve this problem, the Ministry offers a green tariff of the renewable energy resources for electricity produced by waste managing plants.
According to Mirzagaliyev, this will allow to reduce the volume of waste burial at the dumps and with the help of a green tariff more than 1.5 million tons of waste will be recovered.
